Arsenal Will Win More Than One Trophy – Monreal

Arsenal fans are keen to see the club win trophy this season, in fact just any trophy will do provided we just end the trophyless cycle but one man believes the Gunners can do more than just ending the drought by winning more 2 or more trophies, the major ones inclusive, this season. The man is our Spanish left-back Nacho Monreal.

“I would not say just one [trophy], I would say a few,” “Of course that is very tough to achieve.

“The Premier League is very difficult, the Champions League, these are major trophies but we are on a good run.

“We are top of the table, it is still early doors, but we will take every game as it comes and at the end hopefully we’ll win a title.”

“The players’ confidence [is different this season]. You can tell that they are very enthusiastic, very happy, the results are going our way and logically that makes everything easier.

Lofty desires from Monreal and i don’t blame him. Yes, Arsenal this season can surprise their critics and the doubting Thomases by winning more than a trophy with the Premier League a very distinct possibility. The Gunners are currently leading the rest of the chasing pack both in the Premier League and also their Champions League group. The start is good but we must keep our feet on the ground to avoid complacency but I doubt if the current Arsenal squad can get complacent and fall like pack of cards as with the Arsenal squad of previous seasons. The fact that Arsenal brushed aside a poor and disappointing opening match of the season to win the next 10 before drawing against West Brom speaks volume of their newly found strength and winning mentality.

As against last season, there is genuine experience and talent in the squad. Especially in the midfield (defensive and attacking), no player can say the role is his for the taking, everyone must fight for the chance to be in the team. A team that Arteta, Vermaelen and Wilshere aren’t automatic starters is surely one to be taken seriously both domestically and on the continent.
