Arsenal are reportedly tracking Valencia’s young striker Paco Alcacer according to reports in the Mirror.
Paco Alcaccer is an U-21 star for Spain who has delighted fans with his performances for the Valencia first team this season. He has been a revelation since getting his chances at Valencia and has alerted the interest of bigger clubs with his goal scoring abilities.
Arsene Wenger is reportedly interested in this young starlet who has been the subject of Arsenal’s scout’s interest on at least four occasions. In his 13 starts for the club, he has scored 9 goals and provided 2 assists making a case for his incredible prowess.
Arsenal are on the hunt for a natural goal scorer to ease the burden from Olivier Giroud and their search has taken them far and wide with strikers being linked from Brazil to those from teams all over Europe. The interest has mainly been concentrated in the Spanish region with Diego Costa, Alvaro Morata and now, Alcacer all being heavily linked.
Wenger’s first choice among them has to be Costa, followed by Morata but due to the price tags associated with them he has cast his glances elsewhere trying to find an equally gifted striker for a lesser amount. His search has landed him Paco Alcacer, and if reports are to be believed, he likes what he has seen so far.
Alcacer would command less than half the price Morata would and it would be wise to spend on Alcacer than Morata as both are in the same stage of their career, with the Spanish U-21 side but Alcacer gets more appearances for his club side.
Valencia have been in economic turmoil for quite some time and this might force their hand in selling some of their brightest prospects and Arsenal would be inclined to force their hand, just as they did with Malaga while buying Cazorla.
