According to daily mail, Arsenal have made a bid of 6 million pounds for Swansea and Wales’ captain Ashley Williams and they have been told if they must sign the player, they have to double the current bid of 6 million pounds.
Ashley Williams have been on Arsenal’s radar for the last couple of months with a deal reportedly close to been done in January before the Gunners pulled out due to Swansea’s asking price. They were however forced to go back for him this current summer transfer window as they need cover in the centre of their defense since their captain Thomas Vermaelen has been ruled out for at least 3 months with Injury.
Yesterday, Huw Jenkins Swansea’s chairman told media men that they have got no bid from the Gunners. Daily mail sources however believe this is far from the truth and the gunners actually made a bid that was regarded by the Swansea board as derisory and outrightly rejected.
It remains to be seen if Arsenal will be willing to double their offer or not.
