Arsenal are set to make a January move for FC Basel’s Fabian Schär according to the reports from the Swiss media this weekend. The reports claim Wenger have sent scouts to watch the player several times in the last one month and he is now seen enough to be convinced to make a move for the player in January according to the media in the player’s country.
The 21 year old is a high rated right back who can also play in the centre of the defense. The defender who only recently won his first cap for his national team is seen as a back up option and long term replacement to Sagna who is in the last 1 year of his Arsenal contract.
Although Arsenal also have Carl Jenkinson Wenger is believed to want one more right back as Jenkinson is still regarded as rookie who can only improve with another player competing for first team shirt with him.
However, Arsenal will be straight forward for Arsenal to sign Fabian Schär as there is also interest from Juventus as well as Arsenal premier league rivals Liverpool.
