If you believe media reports from France, Arsenal have offered Leicester City €35 million for the services of N’Golo Kante and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has himself been talking to the phone to convince him to reject the offer from PSG and join Arsenal. PSG are also said to be interested in the player and are ready to make a bigger offer compared to Arsenal but the player is said to prefer staying in England.
Chelsea are also said to be in the running for the player but the lack of Champions League football for Chelsea is working in Arsenal’s favour. Now newer reports are claiming Leicester City are on the verge of signing highly rated French ligue one clubside Nice’s Nampalys Mendy as a replacement for N’Golo Kante.
Leicester City were initially said not to be ready to sanction the sale of the player but have changed their stance and have moved quickly to bring him Kante’s replacement. And should the deal to sign Nampalys Mendy go through, Kante will be allowed to leave the club.
Arsenal’s reported offer of €35 million for the player is €15 million more than his reported €20 million release clause. If Kante joins Arsenal, it will remain to be seen which of the current Arsenal midfielders will leave the club.
