Arsenal Team News – Good News On Koscielyn and Ryo But Vermaelen Still Out

Arsene Wenger

Arsenal will be involved in a London derby this weekend and Arsenal Manage Arsene Wenger has given update on the team’s injured players. Talking to Arsenal.com Arsenal’s official website, the French man gave an update on fellow French man Laurent Koscielny who was forced off against Fenerbache last night due to a tackle from Moussa Sow.

Wenger had confirmed just immediately after the game that Koscielny had been taken to the hospital for x-ray with the cut said to be very deep. However, few hours later, Wenger is now very optimistic and the defender may make a result to Arsenal’s team next Tuesday for the return leg of the champions league qualifier.

Aside Koscielny, there was positive news from Ryo Miyaichi who is now back to training according to Wenger. Arsenal’s captain, Thomas Vermaelen is however still not close to returning back to training.

Below is a full transcript of the Team update by Wenger :

on Laurent Koscielny…

He’s like a boxer who had a hard fight the night before; lots of blood around his eye and a deep cut. He is suspended for Saturday anyway but let’s hope he recovers for next Tuesday [against Fenerbahce]. It will be short because the cut is very deep. Hopefully it will be alright.

on other team news…

The news is quite positive at the moment. Of course we have some players who I will need to consider because of the accumulation of the international game and then the Premier League and Champions League matches. I will have to make a deeper analysis tomorrow and on Saturday morning.

on Ryo…

He is back in full training now. He will be involved this season in the first-team squad. Hopefully very soon because he’s now getting fit.

on Vermaelen…

He is out running. He’s on the pitches again. But there’s still a good few weeks to go for him to get his fitness. We have Nacho back and Thomas soon back so that’s all good news for us.

From all indication, Wenger will have a considerably strong side to take away to Fulham on Saturday. However, the fans would like to be given a surprise with the announcement of a new signing.
