Arsenal head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has been spotted in Germany, fueling speculations that the Gunners are going to make a move for Max Meyer in the summer according to the Daily Express.
The German international midfielder is out of contract in the summer and is certain to leave the club, with the club director confirming there’ll be no renewal talks. “Everything suggests that. There is no offer from us and no wish from Max to have a conversation again,” Heidel explained.
He has been monitored by Arsenal for a while and Sven Mislintat attended the Reviederby between Dortmund and Schalke, and would have been disappointed as Meyer was left on the bench for the entirety of the game as his side won 2-0.
However The Week believe this will not deter the Gunners who have been following him for a while and are aware they are favorites to land him after he turned down Schalke’s last contract offer.
The 22-year-old has established himself in the first team at Schalke and is seen is a perfect replacement for Jack Wilshere if the England international decides to leave the club in the summer when his contract also expires.
