Following his initial exclusion from Joachim Low’s selection, Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno has been drafted into the Germany squad ahead of their upcoming international fixtures.

PSG goalkeeper Kevin Trapp had been given the nod ahead of Leno, along with Barcelona man Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Bayern Munich mainstay Manuel Neuer.

However, PSG man Trapp has been forced to withdraw from the squad through injury.

This has prompted Germany boss Low to call on Arsenal star Leno to fill the void left by Trapp’s absence, with the Gunners goalkeeper now joining up with the rest of his international teammates.

In recent weeks, Leno has nailed down a place in Unai Emery’s Arsenal starting line-up after Petr Cech had enjoyed an involved role in the early stages of the season.

Leno will be hoping to feature for Germany as they come up against Netherlands and France in the UEFA Nations League.
