Arsenal are keen on a move to sign Nicolas Pepe from Lille, but face competition from a number of clubs, according to reports in the French media.
French outlet L’Equipe, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Gunners are one of a number of clubs keen on landing the Ivory Coast winger.
The same story says that Lyon, Sevilla and Real Betis are the other clubs keen on signing the 23-year-old as the speculation about his future gathers pace.
Pepe has been capped eight times by Ivory Coast and has earned plenty of praise for his recent performances for French side Lille.
He has already notched up three assists and scored one goal in four Ligue 1 appearances for Lille this season, and his situation looks set to be a source of speculation in January.
Meanwhile, Arsenal will look to make it three wins in a row in the Premier League when they take on Newcastle United away from home after the international break.
The north London side finished in sixth place in the Premier League last term and without a trophy before Unai Emery was brought in as Arsene Wenger’s successor.
