Arsenal Set To Resign Fabregas

Arsenal’s luck in the transfer market looks to be turning with the news that Cesc Fabregas is likely to rejoin the Gunners this summer. The Spain international left the club two years ago for his boyhood club Barcelona but now it seems he is no longer wanted at the Camp Nou and a move back to his ‘second home’ is more than likely.

Rumours happen every summer and there is reason to believe that this is just another one in a long winding road of make-believe transfers however there are several reasons why this could turn out to be true.

The first being David Dein’s recent comments about the situation. David used to be the vice-chairman of Arsenal before a boardroom row saw him leave his position however his relationship with Arsene Wenger remains strong and the pair often meet up. Their latest catch up was of the upcoming transfer market with Cesc a hot topic. David suggested Wenger is planning a major coup this summer and that Fabregas is a possibility. His son Darren is the agent of Fabregas and so his comments could have been met with even more knowledge.

Myles Palmer, a friend of Darren Dein posted on Arsenal News Review that the former captain was returning, with signs close to the players agent suggesting a move is imminent, the rumours start to look more truthful.

Then there is the case of Fabregas’ contentment at Barcelona. It was always his dream to represent the Barcelona first team and after a long transfer saga, his move was complete in the summer of 2011. He found his way in to the team under Pep Guardiola but struggled to make an impact under Tito Vilanova.

His place in the Spanish national team could be under threat and with the World Cup next summer, Fabregas will need a good season to ensure he makes the final cut. Arsenal can offer him first team football; something the player wants and needs. He knows the club and the city very well and will just slot back in to place as if he never left. He can link up will fellow Spaniards Santi Cazorla and Mikel Arteta in midfield along with rising star Jack Wilshere.

Fabregas’ girlfriend Daniella Semaan gave birth to their first child earlier this year and are keen to raise their daughter up in England while the midfielder has reportedly been looking at a £5.4 million apartment in London.

There have been reports that Manchester United are keen to bring him to Old Trafford but their attempts will go unsuccessfully. The player declared he would not be moving to the Manchester club earlier this week but it was agreed in his transfer to Barcelona that the Gunners would have first refusal on the player, a clause they will use should the player leave the Catalans. It doesn’t matter what promises United make or the money they offer, if Arsenal want him, they will get him.

Of course neither Barcelona, Arsenal or Fabregas have confirmed the player’s departure but this may not be a rumour come the end of the transfer window.

  2. Nope. I’m sorry but I don’t believe Fabregas will come back this summer. I’d bet my Student Loan on that (so you know I’m serious!). Higuain, Rooney, Jovetic, Fabregas, Fellaini, Grenier, Cesar, Mignolet, Alaba, Gonalons, Gourcuff, Gundogan, Bender, Wanyama, Gaitan etc etc. We will not sign even ONE of them. Mark my words.

  6. Why wouldn’t we push the boat out to get him back.

    1) It would show we are serious about signing world class players.
    2) It would make a big statement to all the players who have left us. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
    3) We need a playmaker in midfield.
    4) The fans love him and would welcome him back with open arms.
    5) He knows how to play our way of football.
    6) He would be cheep with our buy back claws.
    7) Barcelona still owe us about 13 million for Fabregas and Song.

    Need I carry on
