If Daily express reports this morning are to be believed, Arsenal are set to beat Manchester City to the signing of United Arab Emirates’ Kid Omar Abdulrahman. According to the report, so many clubs are on the trail of the high rated youngster but it seems Arsenal has jumped ahead of the queue.
Manchester City had thought they have successfully got the Asian in the bag and were apparently only waiting for the work permit however, that is now no longer the case as the gunners and Spanish giants FC Barcelona are now keen to hijack the deal.
According to express, Al Ain’s coach, Mohammed Obeid has confirmed that his club has received several interesting offers for the high rated 21 year old player.
Obeid said: “Omar has received many offers to move. We have studied them and discussed them all, but the final decision will be taken by the club’s management.”
Although this is definitely not a news that will delight Arsenal fans who are getting increasingly frustrated with their club’s lack of tangible movement in the transfer market, it is important to also note that with Barcelona reportedly interested, the lad may just be worth it.
Although we want to sign the big boys, but I do not think we should miss out on an opportunity to sign the “next big” star if we have the opportunity.
