Due to the stadium debt, Arsenal was forced to lose players such as Nasri, Robin Van Persie and others to rivals. But not any more, Arsenal are now able to keep their key players. According to a new claim, North London club Arsenal is still working a deal for Chilean superstar Alexis Sanchez ahead of pre-season.
Alexis Sanchez has been linked with a move away from the North London club amidst rumours of interest from top clubs like Manchester City and Bayern Munich, following last season’s failure to win the English Premier League title
The Chilean superstar, however scored 17 goals in all competitions for the Gunners last season despite injuries, and has reportedly opted to remain in London.
The Chilean has now entered talks with the Gunners over signing a two-year extension to his contract which will see him earn an improved £190,000-a-week in wages according to AS Chile.
The report will come as good news for Arsenal fans concerned about the 27-year-old midfielder’s future, which is expected to now extend till June 2020 at the Emirate.
The Chile international midfielder is currently on holidays in the City of New York as he nurses a serious ankle injury he suffered during Chile’s victory over Argentina in the Copa America Centenario final.
Another key player expected to sign a new deal is Mesut Ozil, who was in action yesterday, scoring in the second-half before missing in the penalty shoot-out as Germany defeated Italy in the European championship quarter-final.
