According to reports, Arsenal are looking to accept £30million if they are to let Theo Walcott leave the club in the January transfer window.
The 28-year-old England international is yet to start a Premier League game for Arsenal this season and has 18 months to run on his current deal with the North London club.
Walcott’s former side have revealed an interest in signing Walcott but would ask him to take a wage cut on his £120,000-a-week wages to rejoin the club.
However, the Saints could miss out of a move with the Gunners’ valuation of the striker at a hefty £30million, according to the Sun.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger doesn’t want Walcott to leave the club and join any of the Premier League teams and is wary that the club may require the Englishman if Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil leave the club for free in the summer.
Speaking earlier this week, Wenger confirmed interest in wanting him to remain at the Emirates: ‘I want him to stay.’ ‘I heard about that [the transfer rumours], but I want him to stay.’
