Duncan Castles has tipped Arsenal to sign Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
The Germany international has been linked with a move to the Premier League from the Bundesliga outfit over the past few weeks.
Liverpool FC have been listed as one potential destination for Leno given Jurgen Klopp’s desire to improve his goalkeeping options.
Arsenal are thought to be in the market to sign a long-term replacement for Petr Cech given the Czech Republic international’s career is nearing an end.
Leno is rumoured to be the north London side’s top choice to rival Cech for the number one spot at the Emirates Stadium.
Sunday Times reporter Castles believes the Gunners will sign Leverkusen shot stopper Leno in the coming weeks.
“An even cheaper option is Leno,” Castles told the Transfer Window podcast when asked if Liverpool FC will bid for Leno.
“He will probably be sold this summer because his club have already replaced him. He has interest from a number of clubs, including Arsenal. It would probably be a £25m-30m deal.”
Arsenal finished in sixth spot in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a Champions League spot for the second successive season.
The north London side lost 3-0 to Premier League champions Manchester City in the League Cup final at Wembley last term.
