Arsenal planning to give another try when the window re-opens in January when it comes to the players whom he was unable to sign ahead of this season.
Arsenal did well to secure the signings of Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette during the summer but the club has received high criticism due to the fact that those were the only two signings the club managed to add to their rank in the summer.
Indeed, the club missed out on several chances including Leicester City midfielder Riyad Mahrez. But according to report from Algerian outlet Le Buteur, Arsenal are ready to make a new offer for the signing of the 26-year-old Algeria international.
Arsenal, though, are not the only reported club to be interested in signing Mahrez as AS Roma were actually the only club leading the race to sign him and the only that made a formal bid for him last summer.
However, the three offers from the Serie A club were turned down for not meeting the Foxes’ asking price for £36m-rated who won the 2016 BBC African player of the year.
Arsenal surprising interest in Mahrez come as a result of uncertainly surrounding the future of Alexis Sanchez, who finds the net twice against Crystal Palace on Thursday night.
In the race to replace the Chile international, the club have also been linked with the signing of AS Monaco’s Thomas Lemar whom he made a last-attempt bid for on transfer deadline day in the summer.
