Arsenal or Chelsea may still have a chance of signing Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney in the January transfer window as the player has refused to commit his future to Manchester United. The striker was chased by both Arsenal and Chelsea over the summer and he was thought to be keen on a move away from United but all attempts to leave was blocked by United who refused to sell to Chelsea ( Rooney’s preference ) who they see as a direct rival.
Although the move didn’t happen, Rooney has also failed to explain the last transfer window sagas but instead, he snapped at suggestions he wanted to leave Manchester United and then when pressed further, he refused to confirm he wants to leave or stay.
He said: “Listen, I’m concentrating on my football as I have done all summer.
“I’ve put my head down, worked hard to get myself fit for the season.
“I’m pleased with the way I have come back and delighted that I am scoring goals.
From all indication, it seems Rooney may yet ask to leave in January as although he is scoring the goals, he still want to play as a centre striker. Should the striker still want to leave in January, I personally believe Arsenal will have a better chance of getting him after Chelsea signed Samuel Eto’o from Anzhi.
