Despite being heavily involved in the transfer of players in the summer transfer window, Arsenal are unrelenting in their bid to secure the future of the club.
According to the Express,
“ARSENAL have sent scouts to watch PSV Eindhoven winger Matthias Verreth, according to reports.
Verreth has made the step up to the Jong PSV side this season and has been turning heads in the Dutch second division.
The 18-year-old has made 12 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals, helping the PSV B team top the league.
Italian website CalcioMercato claim he has caught the attention of Arsenal and Serie A giants AC Milan.
The report says both sides have been tracking the Belgian Under-19 international and have sent scouts to watch him in action.
He has been compared to fellow Belgian winger Dries Martens who is currently plying his trade in Italy with Napoli.
Verreth came to prominence in the U17 World Cup in Chile in 2015, helping Belgium achieve a third-place finish.
The teenager has recently been impressing in the Uefa Youth League with the PSV U19s.
They beat Bayern Munich’s U19 side this week to top Group D, with Verreth scoring in the 2-0 win.
Verreth has 27 caps for the Belgium U17 side, scoring five times.”
