Barcelona are considering making a bid for Catalunya born Hector Bellerin of Arsenal In the coming days .
Bellerin is a graduate of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy which also produced the likes of Xavi, Gerard Pique, Cecs Fabregas and Andres Iniesta. With the rumour growing that Brazilian Dani Alves is on his way to the Seria A to join Juventus, Barcelona view Bellerin as Alves’ apparent heir.
Though Barcelona already have the players who can play in the right back position and of which include the likes of Sergi Roberto and Alex Vidal who was a last summer signing from Sevilla, Luis Enrique doesn’t view any of the mentioned players as a worthy replacement for Alves or a starter.
Bellerin has been a regular in an Arsenal side that has finished in the top four each season since he took his chance and made a stake for the right back position 18 months ago displacing established Les Blues right back Matthieu Debuchy. Bellerin’s form also won him a slot in the PFA Team of the Year this season.
Bellerin is valued at €41 million , a fee Barcelona would be unwilling to pay. The 21-year-old played 36 league games this season missing only two games and finished the season with a goal and five assists creating 22 chances which is the most for any defender in the Premier League.
