Arsenal Must Improve To Beat Man City

After failing the Sao Paolo audition, the next test for the Gunners is even a more sterner one as they will be traveling to the Etihad to play Manchester City at such a notice. The Gunners don’t have too much time to feel sorry for themselves as they have to pick themselves up and face their next big test. Arsenal key defender Laurent Koscielny has urged his teammates to forget the disappointment of the Champions League and tackle City headlong.

“We need to play much better to win at Manchester City,” Koscielny told Arsenal Player.

“It’s two hard games that await us so it will be difficult because they are two of the best teams and we need some points.

“We are on top of the table so we need to keep this [lead] and December is a very important month in the Premier League. We need to be ready and to fight to win these games.”

Well said Laurent. The first step to improving is admitting that you were not good enough. The Gunners were simply not at their best against Napoli and certainly need to improve if they are to dent City’s fine record at home. The key to beating City will be keeping it tight at the back. To this end, Koscielny’s partner Per Mertesacker needs to improve as he was a bit doggy and come Saturday, he will be up against Aguero and Negredo, a striking partnership that has been scoring for fun.
Another key to beating City will be swift counter. City’s defence isnt the tightest and if the Gunners can swiftly turn defence into attack by using Walcott’s outlet, then, they can catch the home side on the break and punish them.

Finally, Arsenal must take their chances. It will surely be an open game and there would be chances. Arsenal must take theirs when it falls for them. Profligacy in front of goal could prove costly.
