The injury woes of Arsenal continues even before the commencement of other competitions.
Arsenal midfielder, Alex Iwobi, who picked up a thigh injury in the Gunner Premier League opener against Liverpool has been ruled out of action for up to month and will miss Arsenal’s next two games, reports the Mirror.
He joins Aaron Ramsey on the sideline who was similarly banjaxed in the game. He will now miss the trip to Leicester City and Watford before the two week international break and be fit to return for the home clash against Southampton on September 10.
With Per Mertesacker, Gabriel Paulista and Danny Welbeck also out, Arsenal are currently without five first team players and the list keeps piling – Mertesacker will be out of action for up to a month, Gabriel Paulista for two months and Welbeck will return in the first quarter of next year.
Arsenal have been struggling to bolster their squad this term, with the need for defensive and attacking player obvious. The injuries to the aforementioned players might be the factor that will throw Wenger into the transfer market.
