Wojciech Szczesny was clearly delighted with his clean sheet against Tottenham Hotspur in Arsenal’s 1-0 victory last weekend as he posted a video mocking their North London rivals.
The videos shows Szczesny playing ‘oh when the saints go marching in’ on the Piano. A turn Tottenham fans change to ‘oh when the Spurs go marching in’. Once the tune is finished playing, the Pole looks straight in the camera with a patronising grin and a fist pump.
The post is sure to amuse Arsenal fans and anger Tottenham fans to add a little bit more emotion to the already bitter rivalry. The video also shows Arsenal making a point after they were predicted to heavily lose to Spurs ahead of the game.
Tottenham’s summer spending of 107 million was expected to see them ease to victory over Arsenal, who had failed to spend a single penny. However, Olivier Giroud’s first half goal was enough to see the Gunners claim victory and show that still have enough quality to compete.
Wenger then went on to sign Emiliano Viviano and Mesut Ozil a day later to improve his squad even further and perhaps put an even bigger gulf of class between the two sides. The 1-0 scorelines also gave Szczesny his first clean sheet in the league and his video showed he was happy to finally keep a Premier League shut-out and even better that it was against Tottenham.
