With the trio of Tomas Rosicky, Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini leaving Arsenal this summer, Arsenal surely could do with the signing of at least one central midfielder and with Granit Xhaka signed, one would think Wenger has done all his business in Arsenal’s midfield.
However, reports form France suggest Wenger is still keen to add another central midfielder to Arsenal’s midfield. The Frenchman reportedly have his eyes on signing Leicester City’s N’Golo Kante and the deal is actually at an advance stage according to the reports.
Kante was one of the best midfielders in the just concluded season and it is not a surprise he has been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United. However, after having signed Xhaka, should Arsenal go on to sign Kante, it can only mean one of the current first tam players will leave the club.
And if I am to hazard a guess, I think it is Ramsey that will be leaving. With Manchester City said to be interested in signing the Welshman, I will not be too surprised if he is no longer an Arsenal player when the transfer window officially closes on September one.
And should he leave, I personally won’t shred a tear for him. He is no doubt a good player but his style of play is not a fit for Arsenal. He is not discipline enough to play the box to box role like Kante despite his energy and he is certainly not a wing. The 10 role which I believe he can play is current occupied by Ozil and on a lock down.
