Juventus have made an enquiry to Arsenal about the availability of Jack Wilshere in the summer transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Italian giants are interested in signing the Gunners midfielder as he approaches the end of his contract at Arsenal.
However, the same report says that Juve are set to be disappointed in their pursuit of the 26-year-old England midfielder, because he is ready to put pen to paper on a new contract with the Gunners.
The story says that Wilshere is free to talk to and sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs because his current deal expires at the end of the season.
The report says that Italian sides Juventus and AC Milan have both previously shown an interest in Wilshere.
However, it would appear that the England midfielder is ready to commit his long-term future to Arsenal, if the report is to be believed.
Wilshere is said to be earning around £110,000 a week at Arsenal and the Gunners have offered him a new deal worth around £90,000 a week but with big incentives linked to “success and appearances”.
Arsenal are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table.
