Arsenal are still in the hunt for a new striker and have been linked with so many strikers, some in the EPL and others in other leagues. Despite Wenger declaring he hasn’t made up his mind yet on whether or not he would be spending in the winter transfer window but that hasn’t stopped the media from linking many strikers to the Gunners.
The latest reports have linked Arsenal with Chelsea’s striker Demba Ba and Atletico Madrid’s hotshot Diego Costa.
Should Wenger be serious about getting Ba, it won’t be a straight forward acquisition as he has been linked with a £7 million move to Spanish side Valencia while West Ham United are also interested. Jose Mourinho is skeptical allowing a ‘good’ player like Ba join fierce title rivals, allowing the Senegalese join the Gunners might just be tantamount to gifting the Gunners the Premier League title.
Another target is Athletico Madrid’s striker Diego Costa and according to reports from Italy, Arsenal will make a £35million bid to sign Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid. If the report is anything to go by, then Arsenal might see the Brazilian cum Spaniard a much easier proposition. Since they have money to spend and his buyout clause stands at 35million Pounds, the Gunners can swiftly wrap up a deal for him in January and also hope for him to quickly settle into life in England. Just like Ba, a move for Costa won’t be a stroll in the Park as reports have also linked Chelsea with a move for him. It is a known fact that Chelsea are not reluctant to splash the cash, hence, Arsenal have their work cut out.
Time would tell who Wenger eventually ends with, that is if he ends up with anyone at all.
