Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu has been closely linked with a move to Arsenal…

Sources have told Turkish-Football that a decision over the future of Soyuncu will be made after the Eid.

he holidays marking the end of the month of Ramadan will last until 17 June.

As things stand there is no deal in place and contrary to rumors the player has not had a medical.

Soyuncu is currently on holiday in Ibiza, Spain along with Roma starlet Cengiz Under.

Turkey are not in the World Cup so the tournament in Russia will not affect negotiations.

Arsenal have been closely linked with the Turkey international.

Gunners head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has scouted Soyuncu since his time at Borussia Dortmund.

“Sven Mislintat has been keen on Caglar since he was at Borussia Dortmund,” Dogru was recently quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.

“He first scouted him back in Germany.”

Comments made by Soyuncu’s former club Altinordu have also received attention recently.

Altinordu president Mehmet Ozkan made it clear last month that he believes the defender will join Arsenal.

“Caglar Soyuncu is set to join Arsenal,” he said International Football Economic Forum held at The Grand Tarabya Hotel in Istanbul.

“Of course we would make a cut from the transfer if he joins Arsenal.

“Arsenal asked us for data on his time at the club, we have put something together for them which will be handed over.”

The defender is keen on a move to the Premier League and while Mislintat is keen it will come down to Freiburg and the transfer fee they are willing to accept.

The Bundesliga outfit will have to pay 25 percent of the transfer amount to Soyuncu’s former club Altinordu which has complicated matters.

It is worth underlining that Arsenal are not the only side in the running for the 22-year-old defender.

Mislintat has been interested in the defender longer than other Premier League sides and the player is aware but his agent made it clear that four sides from England are in talks.

“There are four Premier League sides who’ve made a move for Soyuncu, that we are in talks with,” he added.
