Aaron Ramsey is set to sign for Juventus on Friday, but the deal is most likely to be for a summer transfer, not a January move.
Italian outlet Calciomercato.it write that the signature on a deal with Juventus will arrive by Friday ‘at the latest’. Almost everything is already agreed between the two parties, it just needs to be signed. Ramsey’s agent, David Baldwin, is likely to travel to finalise the paperwork on his client’s behalf.
Goal‘s Romeo Agresti claims Ramsey underwent medical examinations in London on Sunday, on behalf of Juventus.
There’s still a small possibility that the midfielder will leave in the January window, with Arsenal asking for €20m. However, the Serie A side don’t want to pay this figure, particularly as they’re already set to give €9m to Ramsey’s agency. Unless the Gunners suddenly lower their asking price, the move will take place at the end of the season.
According to the report, Ramsey is set to earn €6.5m-per-year after tax, plus bonuses, which will bring the net total to around €8m annually.
Former Juventus star Alessandro Birindelli spoke to RMC Sport (via TuttoJuve) on Monday. He confirmed he thinks the deal won’t take place this month, but in the summer, saying: “I believe that eventually, Ramsey will arrive in June, and all talks (over possible resultant exits) will be postponed until next season.”
