Moving to Arsenal from Newcastle in the penultimate season as a first team player and direct replacement for Bacary Sagna, Mathieu Debuchy made just 10 Premier League appearances for Arsenal in his debut season.
The France born full back sustained several injuries that eventually cost him his position to Spain speed star Hector Bellerin and despite his fitness, Debuchy remain as second choice to the aforementioned Spaniard.
Mathieu Debuchy could be on his way out of the Emirates with various reports linking him with a move away from the club. He has been has been linked with a move back to Bordeaux (where he spent the second half of last season on loan) and Galatasaray.
None of the clubs reported to be interested in him have succeeded to prise him away from Arsenal and it is now clear that the player’s destination is Galatasaray as confirmed by the manager of Bordeaux.
“Debuchy? I always said that I really appreciate him; after that, financially, compared to English clubs, it’s impossible.” He said speaking to La Depeche.
The 31-year-old made nine appearances for Bordeaux following his loan move, adding to the brief seven made for Arsenal during the first-half of the season.
