Mixturesport.com reports that Arsenal are finally close to their second signing of the season. The website reports that Arsenal are reportedly offering a contract to former Schalke player, Ciprian Maricia.
The Romanian international, who can play as a winger, second striker or a centre forward, is a free agent after being released by Schalke. He scored 6 goals in 19 appearances in all competitions. “It is close to Arsenal, we’ll see this week, Marica is a good striker, a Romanian international and has experienced great football in the West. It is normal for him to be targeted by big clubs,” his agent said, when quizzed about Ciprian’s future move.
This would again represent a zero outflow of money for Arsenal this summer, since Ciprian is a free agent, thus leaving the fans unsatisfied, after being told by the club that this is the season when they can well and truly compete with the big boys in the transfer market. However, except the signing of Yaya Sanogo from Auxerre, Arsenal haven’t been able to sign anybody, but it has been reported that the Gunners are close to signing Liverpool’s Uruguayan striker, Luis Suarez, who is reportedly considering to put in a written transfer request or seek legal action, if Liverpool refuse to let Suarez leave for Arsenal.
