ARSENAL target Bernd Leno is eager to complete a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal’s new head of recruitment Sven Mislintat wants to land the Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper as a long-term replacement for 35-year-old Petr Cech.
Gunners chiefs have held talks over a deal for Leno and, according to The Sun, the Germany international is keen to make the switch.
Leno is available at a knockdown price due to a release clause in his contract, which expires in 2020.
Arsenal were handed a major boost last week when Napoli’s move for the six-cap Germany international hit the wall.
Leno’s agent Uli Ferber said: “I can confirm there were negotiations with Napoli, but we stopped them.
“Napoli are not an option.”
