Arsenal target Bernd Leno has rejected chance to join Napoli in the summer according to his agent Uli Ferber.
The goalkeeper is reported to be considering leaving Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season and has been linked with the Gunners who seem to be looking to bring in a long term replacement for Petr Cech after some high profile errors from the veteran goalkeeper this season.
The 26-year-old German international has a €25 million release clause in his contract which would easily be triggered if any of the clubs interested in him decide to follow up with their interest with a bid.
One of those clubs however is out of the race already as Uli confirms that negotiations have taken place with Napoli and they have rejected their offer from San Paolo.
Speaking to Bild he said “ I can confirm that there were negotiations with Napoli, which we cancelled.
Napoli are not an option anymore.”
Uli however, added that there are more options to consider, but only at the end of the season “There are more options and we’ll get together at the end of the season.”
“Bernd’s entire focus is now on the Hannover game and helping Levekusen reach the Champions League.”
Leverkusen need a win and a poor result from Hoffenheim on the last weekend to qualify for the Champions League.
