Arsenal are eyeing significant changes this summer and Unai Emery’s side will be eyeing improvements to their midfield ranks, amidst the possibility of a number of departures.
Santi Cazorla will return to former club Villarreal at the start of July and there’s still the possibility that Jack Wilshere will also leave on a free transfer, while there has been speculation orientating around the future’s of both Aaron Ramsey and Mohamed Elneny.
The Gunners had been linked with a surprising move for Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini, who is rapidly approaching the end of his contract at Old Trafford, but The Sun reports Arsenal are unlikely to push for a deal.
30-year-old Fellaini has already seen a proposed move to AC Milan fall through due to his wage demands and Arsenal are also not prepared to match his request for £120k-a-week, while figures within the Gunners’ hierarchy do not believe he’s the right sort of signing for the club.
Fellaini’s future will not be decided until after the World Cup in Russia, which begins next week.
