The Bundesliga duo of RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim have joined the growing queue of suitors for Arsenal and Liverpool midfield target Max Meyer.
The 22-year-old midfielder is set to leave Schalke on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract with the club at the end of the season.
Attempts to find a resolution for his contract situation have been fruitless and Schalke have given up on convincing the player to sign a new deal in the coming months.
Clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham have been keeping tabs on the player and even Serie A giants such as Juventus, Roma and AC Milan are keen on nabbing him in the summer.
However, Meyer remains a popular player in Germany and according to German daily Bild, RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim are also considering securing his signature on a free transfer.
RB Leipzig’s interest in the midfielder is believed to be more prominent as they are looking for a replacement for Naby Keita, who will join Liverpool in the summer.
And Meyer has emerged as a possible target who could replace the Liverpool bound midfielder in the Ralph Hasenhuttl’s squad next season.
It has been claimed that German’s agent will play a key role in RB Leipzig’s attempts to sign Meyer because of a prior relationship with the club.
