Roma’s Cengiz Under has been generating a lot of interest in the last couple of seasons, and the Premier League trio of Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham are reportedly keen on signing him.
The 21-year-old joined Roma from Istanbul Basaksehir in the summer of 2017 for €13.4 million, as a replacement for the Liverpool-bound Mohamed Salah.
He took a while to become a regular in Italy, but ended up making 26 Serie A appearances last season, scoring 7 goals.
City were actually close to signing him from Baseksahir a little more than a year ago, but Under preferred a move to Rome, as he thought he’d get more game time there.
Under is a left-footed winger who mostly plays on the right wing, but he’s also known to be comfortable with his weaker right foot.
He is known for his pace, dribbling, ball control, long-range shooting and crossing. In several ways, he’s a like-for-like replacement for Mo Salah.
He has 10 caps for Turkey, having previously represented them at various youth levels.
In the Round of 16 in the Champions League last season, he scored for Roma in a 2-1 defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk, becoming the youngest Turkish player to have scored in the tournament.
