Victor Andrade continues to be linked with a move abroad with Arsenal a firm favourite for his signature according to Mixture Sport.
The 17-year old has been dubbed the new ‘Neymar’ after making his debut for Santos at just 16 years old. The Brazilian has shown incredible talent for a player so young, just like the remarkable rise of Neymar, who joined Barcelona earlier in the summer.
Andrade is open for a move to England and with only one year left on the player’s deal at Santos, many European clubs are monitoring his situation. Interest in the player has risen in England due to his ability to apply for an EU passport due to his Portuguese parentage.
Arsene Wenger’s reputation for developing young players has reportedly given Arsenal the edge over their competitors and Andrade recently spoke of a move to Europe being a ‘dream’.
“Quite simply, I would love to play in Europe; I think it will be a great education for me. Everybody around the world knows about the strength of the Premier League.”
The player’s representative’s remained tight-lipped over the player’s future.
“Victor is a wonderful talent, but we and his family are calm and we are confident his future will be resolved at the right time, in the right way.”
Due to his contract situation, the fee for the player will be next to nothing. If the clubs wait a year until he is a free agent, then the cost will be a maximum of £2.5 million due to his age and so a fee of around £5-7 million would be enough unless clubs auction against each other that would rise the price up.
