MANCHESTER UNITED could reportedly be joined by Chelsea in the chase for Arsenal star Hector Bellerin.
Despite being a mainstay of the Arsenal first XI over the past five years, the right-back has been continually linked with a return to Barcelona, although the Catalan giants brought in Nelson Semedo from Benfica last summer.
With Arsene Wenger leaving after almost 22 years in charge at the end of the season, there looks set to be a big overhaul in the squad too.
The Frenchman’s successor will likely need funds next year and Bellerin could be sacrificed.
Recent reports have suggested that Manchester United are monitoring the Spaniard, with Jose Mourinho keen to improve his back four.
And now according to Spanish paper Sport, Chelsea are the latest club to show an interest.
The report suggests the Blues could make a move regardless of whether or not Antonio Conte stays at Stamford Bridge.
Sport also claim that Arsenal could ask as much as £35million for the 23-year-old.
When asked over his future last month, Bellerin was coy as he said: “For the moment I don’t know anything, I’m an Arsenal player and we will see what happens.
“Everyone who has played in the Champions League wants to get back to playing in it again.
“We all want to be at the top level. To not play in the Champions League is a disappointment, something negative.
“It’s not ideal and it could condition my plans a little, yes.”
