Arsenal had series of breakthroughs in the summer transfer market when Arsene Wenger defied his norm and bolstered all areas of his squad.
Wenger is now looking to secure extended deals for some of his players – according to reports, Hector Bellerin will not be joining Barcelona or Manchester City after agreeing a new deal with us.
Since making his debut for us in the penultimate season, the player has established himself as a core of Arsene Wenger’s squad and he is currently indispensable.
He is one of several first-team stars that Wenger is trying to tie down to a new deal along with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Laurent Koscielny.
And according to the London Evening Standard, Bellerin has made up his mind over his future and has signed a six-and-a-half-year contract with Arsenal.
He is currently on a £50k-a-week deal but the new deal will now see him earn £100,000-a-week.
Bellerin has three years remaining on his current contract but the transfer speculation surrounding him has forced Arsenal into handing him fresh terms.
The Spanish youngster was missing in action over the weekend game against Manchester United due to an injury – he is expected to miss the whole of this month.
