Arsenal are Tottenham are set to battle for the signature of high rated Ac Milan and Italy’s midfielder cum striker Stephan El Shaarawy. The people newspaper are reporting that Tottenham are hoping to spend more of the world record fee Real Madrid paid for Gareth Bale in the last transfer window on Stephan El Shaarawy once the January window is flagged open.
Stephan El Shaarawy was reportedly a target for Wenger in the last transfer window with some newspaper reporting that a bid of 30 million pounds was actually accepted but the striker chose to remain with Ac Milan in Italy. With Wenger failing to sign a striker in the last window, it is believe he will go back for the Italy once the window opens but he will have competition from Tottenham who are not yet done with spending the money they got from the sale of Bale.
However, both will have to do a good job to convince the striker to join them considering the fact that most players are indisposed to moving in January and in Stephan El Shaarawy’s case, it will be a lot more difficult considering the 2014 world cup is getting closer and he won’t want to go to another league where it will take time to settle down in.
