Arsenal could still sign Norwich attacking midfielder James Maddison this summer, after scans revealed that his injury is not as bad as first feared, according to the Mirror.
The midfielder sustained a knee injury in his side’s 5-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday and was expected to be out for six months, but scans now reveal he could be out for just eight to ten weeks.
The England Under-21 international has scored 15 times for Norwich this term in his first full season in the Championship, and has drawn the attention of the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Everton, Southampton and Premier league champions Manchester City.
He could greatly increase his wage by moving to the Premier League, and it is believed that he is relishing the opportunity to play in the top division.
With the current reports, Maddison will be back in time for pre-season ahead of next season and the Gunners could still sign him.
Arsenal have not announced a new manager to replace departing Arsene Wenger yet, but they seem to be going ahead with business before a new manager arrives, and they might just add James Maddison this summer.
