Arsene Wenger, inevitably, will be feeling the same way, but that hasn’t stopped the Gunners reportedly slapping an asking price on his head. According to the Times, Arsenal will demand at least £50 million for Sanchez this summer – with the club seemingly hoping that the move will put off any potential suitors, given that the Chilean’s current deal expires in just over a year.
The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern don’t know what to think about this report, with many fearing that a team could look to capitalise on Sanchez’s apparent availability. Sure, most clubs wouldn’t want to pay that much for a player like Sanchez in his current situation, but it may not put off some of Europe’s bigger clubs.
That being said, our landlord thinks that if Arsenal can earn that much from his sale, the deal might just be worth it. If Sanchez is unhappy about his current situation, he could affect the Gunners long-term aspirations.
