Antonio Conte Earmarked As Wenger’s Replacement As Frenchman Continues To Dither On New Deal


Arsenal are set to target Antonio Conte next summer should Arsene Wenger not renew his contract. The Frenchman’s deal expires next summer and talks about a new deal are on hold.

Wenger has stated he wants to analysis the season before he agrees to a new contract and with PSG interested in brining the long serving manager back to France, the Gunners have been identifying possible candidates to succeed the 63 year old.

Conte first took the headlines in the coaching world after turning Bari for Serie B relegation contender to champions in two seasons. His work with Bari linked with Juventus but instead he took over at Atlanta. A brief spell at Siena followed before he eventually joined Juventus.

In his first season he secured Juventus’ 30th Serie A title, becoming the first team to do so in the new Italian league set up. He successfully defended the league last season while also claiming two Supercoppa Italia’s all at the tender age of 44.

Arsenal’s first choice is still Wenger but must prepare accordingly should the Frenchman decide to end his time in North London.
