Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has given the club the all-clear to allow Anthony Martial to join Juventus this summer. The Frenchman is believed to be unhappy with life at Old Trafford and talks over a new five-year deal have stalled. Martial was happy to put pen to paper on a new contract before Alexis Sanchez’s arrival but the Chilean is now ahead of the former Monaco ace in the pecking order. Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal are all interested in Martial but United would rather sell abroad and that’s put Juventus at the front of the line.
Mourinho claimed that he was happy with his attack after Sanchez’s arrival but he’s signed off Martial’s departure to Juventus, according to Tuttosport. The Special One is said to be at the end of his tether with Martial and is refusing to wait for the Frenchman to mature into the player that United thought they were signing in 2015.
The club made Martial the most expensive teenager in world football when they splashed out £58m three years ago and Martial was United’s standout outfield player during his debut campaign. However, Martial’s had a complicated relationship with Mourinho and has started just 17 of United’s 36 league games this season.
