Juventus will attempt to sign Aaron Ramsey this month, if they can reach an agreement with the player rather than wait until the summer, according to the Calciomercato.
The Old Lady are set to reach a precontract agreement with the Wales international midfielder this month with the Italian daily reporting that the club’s representatives have met with his people and a deal will be finalized soon.
The midfielder has just six months left on his current deal at Arsenal and can now talk to foreign clubs ahead of a summer move.
Reports now have it that if Ramsey should agree a deal with them soon, Juve would try to sign him this month rather than wait for the summer when they can get him on a free transfer.
They will look to try to convince Arsenal to sell immediately and could offer Sami Khedira in a swap deal to convince the Gunners to part ways with Ramsey early.
Unai Emery certainly doesn’t see a future for Ramsey at the club with the Spaniard only using him as a squad player in recent times and might not be opposed to letting him leave early.
But it is quite weird that Juventus would offer Sami Khedira who just renewed his contract till 2021, rather than other more attractive options like the highly rated center back Daniele Rugani who hardly gets playing time these days and who the Gunners could certainly do with right now.
Regardless, the most important detail from the report is that Juventus are interested in signing Ramsey this January, and if Arsenal can find a replacement, it’d be wise to cash in on him.
