Arsenal and Hannover 96 have agreed on a move for defender Johan Djourou. The only thing that is left to be completed is if the player himself wants to make the make move permanent.
The Swiss defender spent the second half of last season on loan at the Bundesliga club and is yet to make up his mind on where he wants to play his football next year.
Hannover sporting director, Dick Dufner said, “We are in talks with Arsenal and are on a good path. The boy must decide where is the best move for him now. “ The deal would see Djourou stay at Hannover on another year loan with an option to sign permanently next summer however the club are more interested in selling the player and could get their wish with reported interest from Hamburg.
They are also in need of a defensive cover and could potentially offer Arsenal a better financial package but Arsenal have given the player the option on where to play next season and should he decide to leave the Emirates, he will more than likely choose Hannover, having already settled in there for six months.
