Arsene Wenger has revealed that, worryingly, Laurent Koscielny continues to suffer with back troubles.
Wenger has revealed that the reason Kos wasn’t available to face Bayern Munich on Wednesday was because he was once again suffering from back trouble.
While Kos hasn’t exactly been injury free since he signed for Arsenal from Ligue 2 side Lorient in 2010, there have been a couple of reoccurring problems that worry Gooners and, I’m sure, Wenger as well.
One is his Achilles, which the 31-year-old revealed he will need ‘daily treatment’ for back in May, and the other is his back.
Since moving to north London seven years ago, Kos has been sidelined for at least 31 days with a reoccurring back problem.
If the centre-back is once again having to deal with this issue so close to the start of the 2017/18 season, Arsenal fans have a right to worry, especially considering what an integral part Kos is to the starting lineup.
At least the silver lining to him missing the first two matches of the campaign against Leicester and Stoke because of his three-match ban from last season is that he’ll get to rest.
