According to reports, the Gunners are interested in securing the services of Inter Milan defender Jeison Murillo and are closely waching the progress of the 24-year-old defender.
Murillo was linked with a move to Arsenal a few weeks ago but the links have since died down but according to Gazetta Dello Sport via Inside Football, the Gunners along with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich will continue to watch the defender closely at Inter ahead of a potential transfer this summer.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is believed to have identified Murillo as a perfect replacement to ageing Per Metersacker and a perfect partner for Koscielny next season as he looks to strengthen his defense which was heavily criticized last season by fans and ex players.
It is thought that Murillo is open to a move away from the San Siro club after a season at Inter Milan, although he is not expected to force a move away from the Serie A club should Inter Milan be unwilling to sell. The defender revealed last month that his future at the San Siro club is uncertain.
Arsenal will have to battle stiff competition from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich who have reportedly lined up the Inter Milan defender as a replacement for Medhi Benatia who is close to joining Juventus.
