Arsenal’s transfer business in the summer has left the club with a very large squad to the extent that players like Jack Wilshere and Calum Chambers had to be sent on loan.
But it seems Arsenal are still rooting for a player or two to make the team stronger and prepare for any departure.
According to reports, Arsenal have joined Tottenham Hotspurs and Manchester City in their quest to sign Spain international and Real Madrid star Isco, this comes after the player admitted that he is unsure of his future with the La Decima holders.
We were linked with the 24-year-old pretty much all summer but – obviously – nothing came of it and, considering we’re not short of midfielders, you can probably understand why.
Isco had dismissed the possibility that he will leave the Santiago any time soon but according to Marca, he said:
“The truth is that I have not yet thought about it, nor have they asked me to renew, so I am calm,” he said.
“I take it day by day, which is important.
“It seems a little weird [that Real haven’t spoken about it yet], but I can’t do anything.
“If they don’t want me to renew, I won’t go asking for it. It’s something for the club to decide, not me.”
It’s a difficult position to be in. His current deal runs out in 2018 so you can imagine he’d rather have his future sorted sooner rather than later.
He has been tipped to replace Santi Cazorla for Arsenal in the long run.
