Arsenal are set to raid RB Leipzig for their £50 million rated midfielder Emil Forsberg, according to reports on the Mirror.
The Swedish international has impressed this season while recording a decent return of five goals and four assists in the Bundesliga this season, attracting attention from top clubs.
Liverpool along with the Gunners are interested in signing the 26-year-old, and as a result Leipzig are now reportedly now looking at offering him a new contract barely a year after he extended his deal to 2022.
He triggered speculations after telling the fans “Thanks for everything” after his side’s final game of the season, prompting doubts over his future at the club.
The Gunners were reported to have just £50 million transfer budget to work with this summer, but new reports now claim that majority shareholder Stan Kroneke has increased the budget by an extra £20 million which means Sven Mislintat will have £70 million before player sales to invest on players as they look to a potential overhaul of the current squad.
Whether Arsenal will spend a large chunk of their limited transfer budget to add yet another attacker to the team while their defence and midfield remain priority is yet to be seen.
