Arsenal star striker Alexis Sanchez has allayed fears that he will not be in contention for the game against Manchester United this weekend.
Despite obvious injury concerns, Sanchez aided Chile to a 3-1 victory over Uruguay yesterday night, scoring two goals and playing for 84mins, but he had missed their previous game due to injury.
It was all the more impressive given Sanchez has been carrying a muscle injury, something which has been of concern to Arsene Wenger ahead of an important period for Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger had said Sanchez will be subjected to an assessment by our medical team before the Manchester United game, but the workaholic striker has said that he is fit to play.
Speaking after Chile’s victory, Sanchez is quoted by La Tercera as saying: “I travel to London today. I’m training on Friday and travel the same Friday to Manchester to play on Saturday at noon. No problem to play.”
Sanchez has never been a player to let pain get in the way of playing football, but Wenger will want to be sure the footballer isn’t pushed to far, and ends up getting a more serious injury, creating a bigger Arsenal problem.
