Alexandre Lacazette is the highest scoring Frenchman in 2017, with the 26-year-old’s goal in Sunday’s 5-2 win over Everton being his 27th of 2017.

The total puts him ahead of Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann, Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema and Paris St. Germain’s Kylian Mbappe, reports Tribal Football.

Five of those goals have come in an Arsenal shirt and all in the Premier League. He’s made nine Premier League appearances since joining from Lyon for £52m in the summer.

He seems to be continuing his form from his time at Lyon, for whom he scored 37 goals in all competitions last season. Lacazette’s goalscoring form will do his chances of starting for France no harm either.

Olivier Giroud and Antoine Griezmann form the first-choice partnership, but that could soon change with Giroud is now firmly second choice at Arsenal.

Although he makes an impact from the bench, his current level of game time at club level may not be enough maintain his starting spot under Didier Deschamps.
