It’s the international break of course. Most of our players are away with their countries and there is relatively quietness in terms of what is going on at Arsenal.
However, Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal seem to be unrelenting in his quest to remain a world class player, having missed out on a place in Spain’s squad.
Monreal, 30, has featured for Arsenal in all Premier League and Champions League game games this term but he is not getting complacent as he claims to be working hard.
And with the next World Cup two years away, he’ll have an eye on making it back into Julen Lopetegui’s national team plans too.
“There are games you just watch for entertainment, you forget everything else and you just try to be a football fan,” Monreal told Arsenal’s official website.
“But there are many games with different coaches, tactics and styles of play. So you keep an eye on the movement of the players, on the tactics, and how the team regroups – you try to take it in and learn.
“Obviously being a full-back I try to watch the other full-backs, for how they defend, how they attack, their movement, so I can take ideas from them, and think about how I can improve and what I can correct in my game.”
Monreal will be seeking to continue his impressive form when Swansea visit the Emirates on Saturday October 15.
